Phil Mickelson admits he would love to complete a career grand slam of majors to become a "great" player in the sport.

The 43-year-old secured the third leg of the big-four events with a stunning three-shot victory at the Open Championship on Sunday just weeks after the heartbreak of another runners-up spot at the US Open.
An emotional Mickelson admitted that he was devastated to lose out to Justin Rose at Merion in what was his sixth second-place finish in the year's second major.
The left-hander already has three Green Jackets in his locker from wins at the Masters and also claimed the 2005 USPGA Championship.
But he would love to join the likes of Gene Sarazen, Ben Hogan, Gary Player, Jack Nicklaus and Tiger Woods in winning all four majors and the popular Californian admits it would cap an incredible career.
"I think that if I'm able to win the US Open and complete the career Grand Slam, I think that that's the sign of the complete great player," he told reporters.
"I'm a leg away. And it's been a tough leg for me. Those five players are the greats of the game. You look at them in a different light. If I were able to ever win a US Open, and I'm very hopeful that I will."
